Members of the Kimberley Process Civil Society Coalition have recently been working on a series of publications on the Artisanal Diamond mining sector in KPCSC member countries, highlighting its present-day nature, socio-economic and environmental impact, as well as regulatory challenges.
Based on data collected through field research, these publications will present evidence and formulate clear recommendations to enhance transparency, traceability and human rights within the ADM sector of Cameroon, Central African Republic, Ivory Coast, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of Guinea, Lesotho, Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe.
During the last few months, KP CSC members have followed online trainings on field survey methodology and have conducted independent field research. Currently, they are writing up their findings. The final reports are expected to be published by September.
